Video Production
This class begins with a unit covering the basics of image enhancement before learning about video production. The course provides students with a basic understanding of the technology behind video as an information medium and some of the ways in which it is created to achieve its desired effect on an audience. Students are given instruction on equipment/software operation and ongoing guidance as the projects progress. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate production skills and techniques as it relates to producing video for a variety of audiences. Example projects include producing instructional school safety videos, community documentaries, and promotional commercials.
Additional Activities Include:

  • Guest speakers and field visitations will support units of study and career awareness
  • Small cooperative group teams
  • The course will consist of short teacher lecture and demonstration followed by students performing a variety of video production skills
  • Career awareness and an employment portfolio
