Welcome to Student Programs and Services.
Our department comprises of Court and Community Schools,
Special Education Programs and Services, nursing, psychological and speech services to small school districts. We also facilitate inter-district
transfer and expulsion appeals. Our programs are provided
by the County Office when local districts do not have the
resources to provide comprehensive special education services
for severely and non severe handicapped students. The County
Office of Education also educates the youth in juvenile
hall and the regional center. Community School students
are referred by probation, a School Attendance Review Board
(SARB), or an expulsion process.
We have two court schools

locations throughout the county serving approximately 250 students. The Infant/Preschool Program provides itinerant
services throughout the county to approximately 200 families of infants and preschoolers with special needs. We have 125 students
attending regional Special Day Classes in 6 different
locations throughout the county. The special Education

in Humboldt and Del Norte Counties. Our staff includes 46 teachers and a support staff
of psychologists, nurses and health aids, speech therapists,
behaviorists, instructional aids,
