School Safety/Prevention Programs

Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities (SDFSC) Tobacco Use Prevention Education (TUPE)

Funding is received from the California Department of Education for the Humboldt County Office of Education (HCOE) to administer Prevention Programs in support of the local districts. HCOE has contracted with the Sonoma County Office of Education (SCOE) to share the services of the SCOE Prevention Coordinator, Lynn Garric. She is knowledgeable and is well versed in all aspects of prevention and is just a phone call or email away in assisting you with any prevention or reporting issues you may have. Humboldt County School/Law Enforcement Network (SLEN)

The School Law Enforcement Network (SLEN) is comprised of members from local school districts, law enforcement, city and county government, community agencies, and parents throughout the county. Meetings are held quarterly on the second Monday of the month from 3:30-5:00 at HCOE. This meeting is a conduit for vital information sharing/networking and is a forum to identify issues of common importance to schools, law enforcement, and the communities.
